What's Hot?

Flower Power!

Who ever said floral prints are for your Nans'? Sometimes considered a 'play it safe style' is now back in our shops and wardrobes with avengence! Designers such as Stella McCartney and Luella Bartley hit London Fashion Week and Paris with their latest designs. So wether you choose bright, bold detail or or smaller, unique prints floral is definetly in and raring to go!

Probably the seasons hottest trend is the nautical look. From what i've seen Topshop are doing a great range, from the clothes to bags and jewelry. The style is sharp and very clean cut, almost looking like a 50's kind of style seeing lots of stripes and neckscarfs.

To start off you nautical look this spring, buy of the week is an anchor vest from Topshop. At just £12, and less if your an ever so lucky student! I think its the perfect way to start off the look. The anchor pattern gives the clear look anyone is going for, and the top is versatile as it could be paired with boy jeans and converses, or heels and fitted jeans.

TIP - Why not finish you look with an oversized red bag?

If you want to do Commercial modeling...

This is the one that many girls aspire to. Victoria Secrets, D&G and of course most cosmetic brands have the more girl next door kind of look.

Women such as Adriana Lima the stunning Brazilian Victoria Secrets model have made their fortune by being the gorgeous girl who owns the catwalk. There is alot of demand for commercial models, and there is lots of money to be made - its not just high fashion that produces the big bucks.

The world of modeling...

So you thought models are skinny, tall and stunning? Not necessarily! There are so many different types of modelling to do that there is usually something for an girl who's dreamt of being the next Kate, Giselle or even Jordan! Its just knowing what type of 'look' you are.

If you wanted to do - High Fashion...

This is designers such as Roberto Cavalli, Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld... The well established and big selling fashion designers usually book models that are unique looking and very tall, especially for cat walk. Girls who aren't your everyday 'pretty' girl and are more weird looking tend to compliment the clothes better than a 'beautiful' model would, even though celebrities are also being used for campaignes eg Jennifer Lopez for Louis Vuitton . If you look at most campaigns, the models aren't like everyday girls that you would see on the street. They usually have a striking feature that really stands out. Look at Erin O'Connor for example, she has been said to have a large nose, but it is so loved in the industry and is something that has probably aided her in being booked. So perhaps that feature that you would love to change about yourself could be considered as a help rather than hinderance especially if you want to go in to high fashion modelling.
