Birmingham Road Show!

Week one of the Vauxhall Tigra Roadshow was in Birmingham last weekend... Me an three of the other girlies - Louise, Rach and Catherine were all there doing a cat walk show in six new designers outfits! It was such a good day and so nice to see them! Lynzi was presenting with Lisa and did a sterling job! The next one is in London today but I couldn't make it due to trains:-(

But next week, is Manchester so I will be in action on the catwalk, hopefully - I wont stumble in my really long trousers like last week haha!!! I've put a few pictures up from Birmingham!

First Episode!

Sorry about the delay on my comments about the first show! But in all honesty I was expecting to hide away in shame! Fortunately, it wasn't as bad as I thought it may be!

It was, however, so weird to see myself on TV and to see how it's been edited... I wasn't really a focus of the show, which I don't know was a good thing or not, i suppose it eased me in in a way to get used to the first episode!

I was a bit gutted when Gerry said about my 'chipmunk' mouth, but watching it i could see what he meant, all constructive stuff to say the least... As for mine and Rachael's photo, LOVED IT... Not because it was good or anything (but it was a pretty good first go) but because it was nice to relive my first photo experience as a 'model'

Just for A Laugh...

I thought I'd post a few pictures I found of me getting made up in the 'blue fright make up' as its been christened! I have to agree with some of them comments - that we look like we've run straight out of the 1980's when we run down that catwalk! I also found a few pics of when me and the girls hit the streets of London in between making the advert!

Tonight!!!!

OH MY GOSH! I am so nervous about tonight's show! I've got absolutely no idea what they're going to show me doing, but I know on the first day I was so excited I didn't shut up!
The first shoot's pictures went in the Mail on Sunday last week so the element of surprise for the first shoot is a bit spoilt ha ha, but non the less I think it will be a funny episode! I'm gonna be at home watching with my family so I hope i haven't sworn too much lol! I hope any one watching enjoys the first show as much as we enjoyed making it!

A Message From..... Lauren!

OK, so tonight's the night!!! This is what we were working for.... We know the format and pretty much what is gonna happen but its gonna be SO interesting to see how they portray us all!!!!!!! RAW
Maybe they've edited us to shreds?!?!?!?! haaaa
Its gonna be so mad!!!! Don't believe everything you see! xx

First Photo Shoot!

I had my very first photo shoot the other day! ! The shoot was to get some publicity shots for interviews I have done, they will also go in my portfolio. If you get a good photographer, you can start off you own portfolio and make it very strong, just as good as a professionals! I've posted a few of them below let me know what you think! xx

Magazines!

Wow, well it's been a roller coster week for me! First, all us girls were in magazines such as Heat, Look, Closer, OK and Hello! It was so weird seeing myself in them, it felt like it wasn't me!
I've also been doing lots of interviews for local papers, and was even on the front page of the Liverpool Echo on Wednesday...
I'm hoping the show is popular this year, but with all the interviews i've done and the other girls have no doubt been doing, I'm sure we'll be on to a winner!

A Message From..... Louise!

The Mail on Sunday
Well I have to say that our pictures in the YOU magazine are brilliant!Although it is still very strange to see myself in there。I also have to point out a huge mistake: I am sure Cat will have her own well chosen words to say about them mistaking her for being 24 instead of 18. But all is still good, so I think everyone sould buy it and have a look for themselves and tell us what you think。

The Mail on Sunday out today,Sunday 13th April。

Also if you want more check out Look magazine on Tuesday 15th April。

Thank you! Louise Heywood

Promotions...

Vauxhall are looking for the face of the new Tigra and are running a competition which will be taking place over the next few weeks, in cities across the UK.
I'm going to be there with 3 of the other BNTM contestants, although I don't really know what I have to do yet!
I'm really excited to meet some of the girls who will be taking part in the Vauxhall competition and will be trying to find out what they think of this years cycle and whether we lived up to their expectations! As well as being as helpful as I can of course, all this modelling jazz can be very daunting.

It should be a lot of fun, and one lucky girly will become the new face of Vauxhall Tigra which is a prize any one would envy! So good luck to all the contestants and I will no doubt be seeing you in...

Birmingham - 26th April

Manchester - 3rd May

London - 10th May

Newcastle - 17th May

See you then!!!!!!

The Judges...

Oh my word! One of the most scary things of BNTM is meeting the infamous judges! These are the people who will ultimately decide your fate, so a less than impressive performance is just not acceptable!

With  a new panel this year we are met with super model turned photographer Huggy Ragnarsson, Gerry DeVeaux a talented style editor and familiar host of the show Lisa Snowdon...

The judges certainly know their stuff, and know exactly what they are looking for. Hard work and determination are most definitely the name of the game but the support and genuine care they show to each of us is touching. If you under perform they tell you but they tell you how to improve and if you excel they praise you! Three is indeed the magic number!

The Audition Process...

There seems to be loads of confusion about how to apply for the show... But it really is very straight forward...

For all you avid BNTM fans out there, all I did was go on the Living website and found the link for application forms... Before I knew it, I had a call back saying I needed to go to Manchester as I was down to the final 100 girls.

After a chat and a catwalk in my bikini, I received another call to go to London for the final 30 auditions... At this point I still couldn't believe how lucky I had been! So I went to LDN with my Dad and a few weeks later, 'Bob's your uncle' I was one of the 14 girlies selected...!

I never thought, when I sent off my application form, that I would even have been called back... So it just goes to show, if you have a dream give it a shot because you may just be presented with the opportunity of a life time - like I was!

Rant of the Week...

I have to say, I was not too impressed with the debut on the Living web site!

First of all they spelt my name WRONG 'Cahrlotte' and also my 'About Me' section states

...'I consider myself a born and bred scouser from Liverpool...'

Well, as a scouser you wouldn't say you 'consider' yourself as something if you already are! Strictly speaking I was born in Ormskirk so 'born' a Lancashire Lass but I have been 'bred' in Liverpool all my life, which I am very proud of ! I thought The other girls had much more interesting facts written about them,  so just to let you know I am just coming to the end of my second year of a 3 year degree course in Broadcast Journalism, it's a fantastic course and  flying by! I've worked in several restaurants to earn much needed 'clothes, shoes and makeup money'.

And to add insult to injury, have you SEEN the eye make up they have put on us!!! I noticed on one of the forums that its been quoted as 'blue fright make up' well I couldn't think of a better description... Take a look for yourselves!

I can confirm....

So the new series of Britain's Next Top Model is about to kick off and I can now confirm that I am one of the new contestants!

I couldn't believe when I got the call to say I was going to be on the show, it definitely was one of the most amazing moments of my life - probably because it was so unexpected! Over the course of the show I will post about each episode, talking about the emotions, drama, giving my views on how you could do the same and the journey that me and all the girls - who by the way I am pleased to say are good friends of mine experienced together!

The new series begins on Living TV 21st April - check it out and tell me your thoughts!!!

What's Hot?

Flower Power!

Who ever said floral prints are for your Nans'? Sometimes considered a 'play it safe style' is now back in our shops and wardrobes with avengence! Designers such as Stella McCartney and Luella Bartley hit London Fashion Week and Paris with their latest designs. So wether you choose bright, bold detail or or smaller, unique prints floral is definetly in and raring to go!

Probably the seasons hottest trend is the nautical look. From what i've seen Topshop are doing a great range, from the clothes to bags and jewelry. The style is sharp and very clean cut, almost looking like a 50's kind of style seeing lots of stripes and neckscarfs.

To start off you nautical look this spring, buy of the week is an anchor vest from Topshop. At just £12, and less if your an ever so lucky student! I think its the perfect way to start off the look. The anchor pattern gives the clear look anyone is going for, and the top is versatile as it could be paired with boy jeans and converses, or heels and fitted jeans.

TIP - Why not finish you look with an oversized red bag?

If you want to do Commercial modeling...

This is the one that many girls aspire to. Victoria Secrets, D&G and of course most cosmetic brands have the more girl next door kind of look.

Women such as Adriana Lima the stunning Brazilian Victoria Secrets model have made their fortune by being the gorgeous girl who owns the catwalk. There is alot of demand for commercial models, and there is lots of money to be made - its not just high fashion that produces the big bucks.

The world of modeling...

So you thought models are skinny, tall and stunning? Not necessarily! There are so many different types of modelling to do that there is usually something for an girl who's dreamt of being the next Kate, Giselle or even Jordan! Its just knowing what type of 'look' you are.

If you wanted to do - High Fashion...

This is designers such as Roberto Cavalli, Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld... The well established and big selling fashion designers usually book models that are unique looking and very tall, especially for cat walk. Girls who aren't your everyday 'pretty' girl and are more weird looking tend to compliment the clothes better than a 'beautiful' model would, even though celebrities are also being used for campaignes eg Jennifer Lopez for Louis Vuitton . If you look at most campaigns, the models aren't like everyday girls that you would see on the street. They usually have a striking feature that really stands out. Look at Erin O'Connor for example, she has been said to have a large nose, but it is so loved in the industry and is something that has probably aided her in being booked. So perhaps that feature that you would love to change about yourself could be considered as a help rather than hinderance especially if you want to go in to high fashion modelling.
